Donic Waldner Off World Champion 89
High quality handcraft made in Germany: the new wood series World Champion 89 is something very special. For the 25th anniversary of the Swedish World Cup title win in Dortmund in 1989 with the team, there are three pieces of wood dedicated to the legends Jan-Ove Waldner, Jörgen Persson and Mikael Appelgren and exclusively for DONIC in Made in Germany: by a master hand, with the highest precision and with the latest technology – just like the three Swedish superstars also played.
An over 200 year old Italian Spruce veneer is used as the cover veneer for all three models. It is combined with a 3 mm thick core made of Kiri as well as other Spruce veneers or with the model Appelgren All +, Ayous and a new carbon fleece-zylon fabric (CFZ), which is produced exclusively for DONIC. Only high-quality sawn veneers from our own production are used, which are more stable than conventional sliced veneers and guarantee that the wood retains its playing properties for a much longer time without the usual material fatigue.
In a specially developed drying process, the moisture content of all three types of wood is reduced from 12 to 16 percent to only 4 percent. This makes the woods particularly stable and light (Waldner and Persson at approx. 85 g, the Appelgren All + even only approx. 80 g). Each individual wood is subjected to a special cold pressing process for 24 hours, and the use of unique 3D technology ensures that the handle is ergonomically perfect and perfectly rounded. Fast but extremely sensitive and easy to control wood.
For players looking for the middle ground between speed and control.
